Inmy opinion, Alfa Romeo’s 18,000 miles oil change interval is very optimistic. I think that no MultiAir engine should go longer than 10,000 miles or 12 months between oil changes. Alfa Romeo started with the 18,000 miles but reduced the interval to 9,000 miles after a while. My guess is that too many MultiAir units must have failed early.
